SIFCare Cavite Celebrates Earth Day with an Eco Camp

To help more people be environmentally conscious and appreciate nature, the Science of Identity Foundation Community Assistance for Responsible Existence (SIFCare), in collaboration with the Global Eco Brick Alliance and Silang municipal government conducted an Eco Camp in celebration of Earth Day 2018.

The camp was held last April 21-22 at the Navadwip Farm Brgy. Batas, Silang, Cavite, with the theme “End Plastic Pollution” centered on an Eco Brick workshop, River Clean-up and Eco Adventure trek.

EcoBrick is a plastic bottle stuffed solid with non-biological waste to create a reusable building block which can be used to make modular furniture, garden spaces and full-scale buildings such as schools and houses.

Participants also experienced forest bathing, yoga asanas (exercise), and a plant-based cooking demo. They also immersed in Healing Sound Meditation and an Earth Hymn.

A total of 175 participants from the Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite, National College of Science and Technology-Cavite Philippine Normal University-Manila UNESCO Club, and Vegans of Manila joined the Eco Camp, 52 of which stayed overnight and enjoyed the farm atmosphere and relaxing environment.

Let’s make everyday Earth Day!
