Last Batches of Turtle Nests Emerging

As the summer approaches, the last batches of turtle nests are emerging and making their way to the ocean.

Last January, a turtle nest was adopted by the family of Mr.Marvin Hall, in Tammocalao Bacnotan La Union. Last night they were able to witness the hatchlings emerge from the sand and make their way to the water. Officials and residents from Bacnotan flocked to this quiet cove to witness the rare sight.

Turtle nesting in this part of La Union has increased this past year and we are very happy with the strong support from the local Government. The turtles play a big part in maintaining the oceans ecosystem and the ocean is the main tourist attraction in this province. We must continue working together in caring for the sea and its inhabitants. Our present and future depend on it.
