SIFCare Volunteers Conduct Music Meditation and Acupuncture Mission in Baguio

SIFCare volunteers were invited to conduct a free Music Meditation and Acupuncture session during a fundraising event for Ribbons of Hope cancer patients in Baguio City last June 23, 2018. The activity took place in Benguet State University.   This event was done in coordination with Dr. Imelda Degay-President of Ribbons of Hope; Nutritionists-Dieticians Association of the Philippines; La Trinidad LGU; and Galatians 3:14 Movement.

The meditation session was attended by more than 30 participants who said that the meditation was very easy to learn and practice.

After the Music Meditation, the audience was given a brief overview of acupuncture and its benefits by Dr. Manny Quirino, a Certified Medical Acupuncturist and former Medical Center Chief of Baguio General Hospital and Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center. He supervised the team of volunteer acupuncturists who served a total of 48 patients.

The last item on the program was a lively zumba session with more than 200 dynamic participants. The zumba workout lasted two hours. All those who participated in the morning event bought tickets to financially help six patients undergoing treatment for various types of cancer.
