Care in Action at Brigada Eskwela

Brigada Eskwela 2015 was launched simultaneously in Deped public schools nationwide last 18 May 2015 and more than 20 SIFCare volunteers participated in the activities conducted at the Malinta Elementary School, Dasmarinas, Cavite.

Volunteers were assigned different tasks like:

• Repainting the roof and exterior walls of classrooms
• Cleaning the surroundings
• Arranging pots, weeding and trimming plants

Aside from helping with the various activities, SIFCare donated cleaning and paint materials and also prepared breakfast, lunch and snacks for all.

One parent commented, “Mabuti at tinutulungan nyo kami mag-maintain ng eskwelahan dahil walang ibang gumagawa nito kungdi ang mga guro.” (“It’s nice that you are helping us maintain the school because no one is doing this other than the teachers.”)

Public schools lack resources to maintain their school and they need all the assistance we can give.
