SIFCare and NOCEI hold first KALIKASAN Youth Camp
SIFCare and Network of CALABARZON Educational Institution (NOCEI) have organized the first-ever KALIKASAN Youth Camp last Match 15-16, 2019 at Navadwip Farm, Silang Cavite.
The camp was attended by 115 students and teachers from eight private colleges and universities under NOCEI.
KALIKASAN or Kabataang Lider Kaisa ng Kalikasan: Pagpapahalaga sa Kabundukan at Kapaligiran aims to raise awareness among the youth on environmental issues and to educate them on the importance of protecting, conserving and preserving Mother Nature.
Furthermore, SIFCARE and NOCEI want to empower students, so they can be part of the solution on the current environmental crisis the world is facing today, rather than be part of the problem.
Activities during the camp include: Ecobricks Starter Workshop, Plant Based Diet and Cooking Demo for Wellbeing and Environment, Earth Songs Mini Concert, Music Meditation for Self-healing and Mother Earth, Guided Meditation and Yoga Exercises, Seed Gathering, Eco Farm Tour, and Plant Based Boodle Fight.
Mr. Ralph Abaiza from the University of the Philippines-Diliman Young Earth Scientist Group, talked about Environmental Management while Ms. Crista Mae Fuentes of Philippine Normal University UNESCO Club spoke on Living in Harmony with Nature.
Both of them are SIFCare volunteers.
At the end of the two-day camp, students expressed their happiness from learning new ways of helping ease Mother Earth burden by being more involved in Earth-friendly initiatives.
Thank you NOCEI for giving us the opportunity to be of service to your organization. This is only the beginning of our one small step to Saving Mother Earth!
