A Heartfelt Responce

Typhoon Carina

A Warm Meal, A Heartfelt Response
Typhoon Carina may have passed through Metro Manila with its full fury, but its impact extended far beyond the metropolis. In the coastal province of La Union, families of farmers and fisherfolk bore the brunt of the storm. Homes were broken, livelihoods lost, and hunger gnawed at the hearts of many as they were unable to tend to their fields or venture into the treacherous seas.
In the face of such devastation, a beacon of hope emerged. SIFCare, in collaboration with the volunteers of the 585th Air Base Group DOERs and other individuals, came together to offer a lifeline—warm, plant-based meals.

For two days, from July 27 to 28, tireless volunteers transformed a humble kitchen into sanctuary of compassion. Cooking with love and care for those in need, their efforts are a shining example of the Bayanihan spirit. Their hands, guided by empathy, prepared nourishing meals for a total of 597 families—that’s approximately 2,985 individuals. Each food pack served was not just sustenance; it was a promise of solidarity, a whisper of hope amidst the storm.
We understand that a single meal cannot erase the pain and loss these families have endured. Yet, in providing this small act of kindness, we aimed to alleviate their immediate suffering and offer a moment of respite.
If you are moved by the plight of these families and wish to contribute to their recovery, please reach out to us. Your support can make a world of difference.
