Acudetox Program at Lucban
About 16 staff members from the Rural Health Unit (Lucban) participated in a weekly acupuncture detox program, a part of SIFCare’s RAMA (Responsive Acupuncture Medicinal Alternatives) wellness program that began on July 29, 2025. After signing a waiver and filling out a patient record, they were oriented on “What is Acupuncture” and its benefits for disease prevention.
The 5-point NADA detox acupuncture was briefly explained, including how each point corresponds to specific organs. They were also taught proper breathing exercises—specifically belly breathing, to encourage nerve relaxation, as well as meditation for mental clarity. These breathing exercises and meditation were performed to help the participants relax before their treatment. At the end of each session, they were given a plant-based snack as a healthy alternative to fast food. The staff particularly appreciated the hot sweet potato leaf tea served during the third session.
Before the first session, a few participants complained of insomnia. After receiving the 5-point detox on both ears, they had ear seeds placed afterward. By the second session, they reported being able to sleep well for the first time. One person who complained of frequent stomach bloating said the bloating had decreased after undergoing the acudetox.
