DepEd La Union Partnership w/ SIFCare
On September 10, 2024, the Department of Education Schools Division of La Union (DEPED La Union) and the Science of Identity Foundation Community Assistance for Responsible Existence (SIFCare) formalized their partnership to promote the health and well-being of teaching and non-teaching employees of the entire division of La Union, as well as parents, and students. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between the two organizations outlines a comprehensive wellness program that includes plant-based food distribution, NADA Acudetox sessions, and other holistic strategies.
The collaboration also aims to address the physical and mental health needs of education personnel, recognizing the significant impact of teacher well-being on student outcomes. SIFCare will provide coordinators, volunteers, and financial resources to implement the program, while DEPED La Union will offer logistical support and facilitate information campaigns.
This partnership is a significant step towards promoting the well-being of the education sector in La Union. By focusing on holistic health and wellness, DEPED La Union and SIF hope to create a more supportive and nurturing environment for teachers, employees, and students.
Present during the signing were Mr. Jorge M. Reinante (DepEd Schools Division Superintendent), Ms. Milagros Celeste (SIF President), Ms. Althea Grace Cabanting Tungbaban (DepEd), Dixie Palmos and Nimai Tamayo (both SIFCare Program Coordinators). The MOA is effective upon signing and can be renewed for another five years.
