International Nurses Day
La Trinidad, Benguet — In celebration of International Nurses Day, SIFCare was honored to be invited by the Cordillera Hospital of the Divine Grace to facilitate a wellness program for their nursing staff. Nurses play an indispensable role in public health, often serving as the primary backbone of patient care. However, the nature of their work involves high-stress environments and long hours that can lead to physical and mental fatigue.
While nurses spend their lives giving health and care to others, this event was a dedicated time for them to focus on themselves.
The session provided a much-needed “wellness reprieve,” offering the staff a chance to rest and recharge through Acupuncture Detox facilitated by certified Acupuncture Detoxification (ADSes) volunteers of SIFCare; and Yoga & Meditation facilitated by Jamuna Amowas-Doyle, a Cordillera-born and raised Yoga teacher who is now based in Australia. We were incredibly grateful to have her back in her home community, sharing the yoga and meditation practice she teaches abroad, as a way of giving back.
The activity brought together a wonderful group of health professionals and volunteers dedicated to the spirit of service and well-being. It was a beautiful experience to see these frontliners take a moment to breathe, relax, and experience the wellness they provide to their patients every day.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the administration of Cordillera Hospital of the Divine Grace for prioritizing staff wellness, and to all the volunteers and participants who made this day of self-care possible.
To our nurses: thank you for everything you do. You deserve this time for yourself! See less
