SIFCare Condcuts Acudetox at Inner Wheel, La Union

Last September, the RAMA (or Responsive Acudetox Medicinal Alternatives) Barangay Wellness program reached a meaningful culmination with a simple yet heartwarming ceremony. Mothers, the backbone of families, received their certificates of attendance, marking the dedication to complete the RAMA Wellness Package 1 Program involving Acudetox treatments and enlightening health and wellness classes.

Among the beneficiaries were the resilient women of Barangay Quidem in La Union. Barangay Quidem, situated near lush planting fields, is a humble farming village where the humble folk sow the seeds of sustenance—rice and various crops. In their native tongue, Ilocano, “quidem” is a cherished phrase meaning to gently close your eyes. How apt, for it encapsulated the essence of the RAMA Wellness program these women embraced. Each time we do acupuncture and relaxation, we tell them “Paki-kidem ang inyong mga mata”. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, allowing your body to relax with each exhalation. Let go of the stress”

The beneficiaries overflowed with gratitude for the immense impact the program had on their lives. They shared how the program has become a sanctuary, a space where they can rest, relax, and find a sense of calm amidst the daily struggles of life. The transformative practices of acupuncture, coupled with insightful health classes covering relaxation techniques, sleep therapy, nutrition, and self-massage, have provided them with invaluable tools.

In their expressions of happiness and contentment, they emphasized that being beneficiaries of this program has empowered them to prioritize self-care and well-being. In the past, health and wellness might have taken a back seat amidst the whirlwind of daily responsibilities and the demands of family life. With a focus on prevention rather than treatment, they are now better equipped to care for themselves and continue serving their families and community.

As we now embark on the next phase of the RAMA program, we continue to tread the path towards SIFCare’s vision of developing happier, healthier and enlightened individuals and communities. The beneficiaries, on the other hand, eagerly look forward to the next phase of the wellness program, affirming their commitment to the journey of well-being and self-discovery.
